Immigration officers, hotel receptionists, and taxi drivers all ask for the same handful of details: where you entered China, where you are headed, and where you are sleeping tonight. This tool keeps those answers in one place — record your entry point, itinerary stops, and hotel names, addresses, and phone numbers, including the Chinese-character versions you will actually need to show people. Everything stays private on this device; the tool intentionally never asks for passport numbers or other sensitive identifiers, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. Before each travel day, screenshot the relevant hotel card: a driver who cannot read English can still match Chinese characters, and a receptionist can copy the address straight into their system. If plans change mid-trip, update the entries here rather than keeping them in scattered chat messages — one current source of truth beats five outdated ones.

Can this hotel receive foreign guests?

Current national policy is broader than older “foreigner hotel” lists.

Current official position

Chinese authorities state that local departments and booking platforms should not restrict accommodation operators from receiving foreign guests based on qualification requirements, and operators must not illegally advertise that they do not accept foreigners. Hotels register foreign guests using a valid passport or other international travel document.

Message the property and ask: “Can you register a foreign guest with a passport?”

Confirm late arrival

If arriving late, verify reception hours and that the reservation will be held.

Confirm payment

Ask whether the property accepts your card, Alipay/WeChat Pay or RMB cash.
